Vivo opens India manufacturing of mobile handsets

New Delhi, December 23, 2015:  A year after entering the India maerket, China headquartered mobile handset company Vivo Mobile   has announced commencement of its  India manufacturing unit  in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The unit will cater to the manufacturing and assembling of vivo smartphones, creating more jobs and decreasing vivo’s dependence on imports.  With a maximum production capacity of one million devices a month,  it will help create around 2,200 jobs. It will manufacture and assemble several new models such as Y11, Y21, Y15S, which will meet the present domestic demand.
Participating in the inauguration  on December 22,  were Alex Feng, CEO, Vivo Mobile India, Le Yucheng, Chinese Ambassador to India and Rama Raman, Chairman Noida.

Added Rama Raman: “We are glad that vivo has commenced its first manufacturing unit in Greater Noida with the vision of creating more jobs and opportunities for Indians, hence supporting the “Make in India” program. We hope the advent of this new journey will bring more growth prospects to vivo.”
