Vishakhapatnam, Oct 14 2015: China headquartered mobile manufacturing and design company  Gionee,   has unveiled its first Made in India, Smartphone , the F103.
The phone has been contract-manufactured by Foxconn. Arvind Vohra, Country CEO & MD, Gionee India and William Lu, President Gionee made the announcement in the presence of N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, where the plant is situated.
Having sold over 7 Million devices in India, Gionee  looks to double sales in 2015-2016,  by this move.

Said  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu:  “I am extremely happy that Andhra Pradesh has become home to a leading mobile brand like Gionee.  I am keen on developing country's largest Mobile Manufacturing hub in Andhra Pradesh. With the current interest levels, I am hopeful that Andhra Pradesh will be producing 6-7 million phones per month by the end of next year.  My Government is committed to building a robust electronic manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.”
