Wipro rated Most Ethical Company yet again, in global IT Services space

Bangalore, March 14, 2015: Leading India-based  global information technology, consulting and business process services company Wipro Ltd. has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, as a 2015 World’s Most Ethical Company. It has gained the award for the 4th year running.
The designation recognizes those organizations that have had a material impact on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company.
Wipro is one of only three companies in the Information Technology Services industry honored this year. The other two are Ricoh and Xerox.
In other categories, the Tata group is again a scorer: Tata Power in  Energy and Utilities (Electric) and Tata Steel in Metals
Says Anurag Behar, Chief Sustainability Officer, Wipro Ltd: “At Wipro ethics, integrity and responsible citizenship are a foundational first principle and at the core of how we think and act. We are happy to be recognized by Ethisphere for the fourth time in succession. We see this as a reaffirmation of what we stand for.”
Says  Ethisphere CEO, Timothy Erblich: “Earning this recognition involves the collective action of a global workforce from the top down. We congratulate everyone at Wipro for this extraordinary achievement.”
The World's Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient (EQ) framework developed over years of research to provide a means to assess an organization’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized way. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies, rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics.
Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20%), culture of ethics (20%), governance (15%) and leadership, innovation and reputation (10%).
