Synergy with recent acquisition of Kyocera-India

MindTree has announced the launch of a ready-to-ship range of mobile handset prototypes called N!MO --  'Next in Mobility'.

The 'white label' handsets have been created by MindTree for sale to mobile service providers who can in turn brand these handsets and sell them to consumers. N!MO  is likely, to have grown  from MindTree's recent acquisition of Kyocera Wireless India (KWI).

"The product engineering part of MindTree was already actively involved in products in the area of security -- like Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and video surveillance systems. N!MO will be used to 'mobilize' some of these products, besides creating a technologically advanced -- X-G capability -- handsets targeted at the high-end mobile user",  says Samartha Raghava Nagabhushanam, President and CEO,  of MindTree's Product Engineering Group,  .

The company   hopes to find plenty of  takers  who  will   build on   the prototype, and if required do micro level personalization.

N!Mo is MindTree's seventh  engine of growth, and  will take the  IT  solutions player even faster to its  target of   one billion dollars of business by 2014, says  Executive Chairman Ashok Soota
