Bangalore, January 29 2014: US-headquartered Barracuda Networks, banks on its canny combo of solutions in security and storage to address the pressing need of emerging enterprises worldwide to simplify IT for their organizations.
"Data theft is rampant in the Asia Pacific region", says Jeff Hurmuses, Vice President and Managing Director in charge of the company's Asia-Pac operations, "Hackers are interested in the data that you hold, in the applications you build... which is why we need to move away from a 'network perimeter' mind set, when it comes to security and embrace an 'application perimeter' approach."
"India will be the highest growth percentage area for us in APAC in 2014", Jeff added, " Our focus here as in the US and elsewhere, is on the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market. We consciously try in all our products to simplify IT. to make it a 'plug it in' process".
In recent weeks Barracuda launched an innovative Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering. It is offered as annual service that includes an appliance, Energize Updates, Instant Replacement and Unlimited Cloud storage.
Many of Barracuda's flagship solutions have been crafted right here in Bangalore added India and SAARC Country Manager Murali Urs. In fact the India development centre "owns" 3 Barracuda products completely which means they were designed and developed here from scratch and will be maintained and supported from India during their life time. They are Link Balancer, Load Balancer ADC and Web Application Firewall. Currently Barracuda has 80+ people working out of this office, ever since it acquired Net Continuum in 2007.
