This includes  the handset cost, unlimited local and STD calls,SMS, national roaming and 3G data.  RCOM is offering these much-awaited iPhone models at no down payment ( this is  only for the  16 GB models of iPhone 5c and 5s.  Buyers of the 32 and 64 GB versions will have to put down  between Rs 11,600 for the 5c and Rs 10,992 and Rs 19992 for the 32 GB and 64 GB 5s) .

Reliance Apple iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s customers will not receive any usage bill for 24 months, as the monthly payments include all usage charges. Only international calls and international roaming charges will have to be paid for. Reliance leads the Indian data market with 7.7 million of its over 31 million data customers using 3G services—the highest amongst all operators as on 30 June 2013.

The other big mobile player, Airtel is not offering any bundled offer but is cutting its monthly rentals by half. .

The iPhone's India prices are iPhone 5c 16 GB: Rs 41, 900;  5c 32 GB: Rs 53,500;   iPhone 5s: 16 GB: Rs 53,500; 32GB: Rs 63,500 and 64 GB: Rs 71,500.

Media calculations suggest that under the 2 -year Reliance plan,   the effective payment for the 16 GB iPhone5s,  would be  Rs 71,976 against the upfront price of Rs 53,500; while the 16GB 5c buyer will end up paying Rs  62,376 at the end of the plan versus Rs  41,900 up front... but one must also consider the cost of  the free data and voice services, so the Reliance offers may still constitute a good deal.
