Bangalore July 15, 2013: Japan headquartered Brother International, the global brand for digital printing and imaging, has made an aggressive entry into the small office and micro/small industry segment with a trio of monochrome laser printers specially designed for the working environment in India. A longtime leader in the printer business in US and Japan, Brother had a niche in enterprise printers ( they have little competition in A3 multi function inkjets) but is now addressing the entry level in lasers.

The products launched this week are: HL-1111, a single function laser printer, the multi function DCP-1511& MFC–1811.
These new models are Global Strategic models which were designed for countries like India:
Special features include reduced paper path ( by 50%); anti curl rollers and longer feed guides -- which address the damp environments and non uniform paper often used in India.
Brother laser printers also offer much reduced cost of ownership because toner and drum are separate – one can replace the toner cartridge at around Rs 1775, while the drum needs to be changed only after 5 toner changes for Rs 2775, explained Alok Nigam, General Manager – Sales, Marketing & Service, Brother International India.

The HL-1111 is a Monochrome Laser printer with 20 ppm print speed that offers USB 2.0 connectivity with a 200Mz Processor. The printer boasts of a toner saver mode that ensures toner is saved while printing documents. Additionally, one can also print the time & date &/or user ID on the document. The printers that supports Windows & Mac, also allows users to print easy to read, professional documents into booklet formats. ( Rs 5000)
The DCP-1511 is a Monochrome Laser MFC, which offers 16MB memory, has high speed USB 2.0 connectivity with 200Mz Processor. With print speed up to 20 ppm, the first page time out is less than 10 seconds and the warm up time from sleep mode is less than 18 seconds. The printer offers the Toner save mode and Poster printing along with the watermark printing and the manual booklet printing. The copy function allows multi copy, N-in-1 copying which compresses 2 or 4 pages into one A4 sheet along with the ID Card copy function to print both sides of the card on one page.
