CIO India Conclave 2016 highlights

Goa, April  7 2016: The 5th Edition CIO India Conclave concluded successfully   last month  at the Rio Resort in Goa. Unlike a regular conference or seminar this initiative featured a perfect combination of interactive panel discussions, tech talks, keynote presentations and pre-scheduled one-to-one business meetings
Over 60 Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers and technology heads from cross vertical industry sectors in India met privately to discuss current technology trends and challenges as well as shared their best practices.
The conclave took off with the Chairperson  Vipul Anand, the Group Chief Information Officer at Jindal Steel & Power Limited who welcomed the attendees in his opening remarks.
One of the key highlights of the first day included an opening keynote by Pavan Duggal, the President or Cyberlaws.net and Advocate at Supreme Court of India. In his presentation he apprised the audience about the Indian cyber law compliances and what the country's CIOs need to be aware of concerning the subject. This was followed by an interesting tech-talk on Enterprise Collaboration & Communication presented by Shailesh Dudani, Chief Sales Officer at Flock, one of the gold sponsors at the conclave.
A CIO Think Tank session followed next that focused on the topic 'The CIO Vision – Fostering new levels of innovation & productivity through information technology'. The panelists included Chetan Agarwal, Chief Information Officer, Lodha Group; Suresh A. Shanmugam, Head – BITS (Business Information Technology Solutions), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services; and the session was moderated by Vipul Anand.
KRC Murty, the Chief Technology Officer at Deutsche Bank Ag, presented the opening remarks on day two of the event followed by a keynote on 'Centralizing IT: The business, technology and service alignment', presented by Vipul Anand. The key take away from this was the top 7 trends which will help better execute a CIO’s efforts to Centralize IT.
A panel discussion on leading IT transformation in a dynamic environment elaborated on key areas such as change management in the IT landscape and knowing the importance of transforming business culture into creativity, collaboration and innovation. The session was moderated by Shailesh Dudani from Flock and panelists included, Viral Raval, Global Head (IT) Suzlon Energy; Nikhil Chadha, Director IT Service Strategy & Service Excellence, Flipkart; Amit Agrawal, AVP - Enterprise IT Strategy & Architecture (Digital & Platform Strategy Transformation), Reliance Industries; Suresh A. Shanmugam; and Hiren Narendra Shah, Head (IT) Reliance General Insurance.
