Bangalore, November 21 2014: Herborn( Germany)-based Rittal has brought its modular data centre designs and technologies in India. The company showcased its range of scalable data centre enclosures in units: 60kW, 120 kW, 90kW, 180kW etc at the CeBIT India show here last week.
Briefing IndiaTechOnline, Ajay Bhargava, Managing Director, Rittal India, said the RiMatrix S modules which included completely wired units with water based dedicated cooling systems, could be up and running within 3 months of being ordered, compared to a typical 10-12 month period.
The data centers designed 7 to 10 years back were in the range of 2.5 kW to 4 kW per Rack, these traditional Data Centers are inadequate to address current requirements, neither in terms of energy or in terms of space. To meet clients’ needs for flexible solutions for new challenges, in an era of cloud computing, mobile data usage, global networking, big data, Internet 3.0 & a greater need for security, Rittal solutions offered complete standardization, modularity and faster deployment. All RiMatrix S modules may be scaled to almost any output between 10 kW to 450 kW.
At CeBIT the message that Rittal put out was: individual data centre construction is history. Modular is the way to go.
