Intex launches 2 affordable smart phones with proximity  & light sensors

Bangalore, January 17, 2013: Okhla–based Intex Technologies,  one of very few of Indian handset makers  to  design and manufacture their devices in  the country, rather depending on contract manufacturers in China,  has launched   its two latest android models in the smartphones category- INTEX AQUA Trendy & INTEX AQUA Flash in the South Indian  market.

-          The dual-SIM (2G+ 3G) INTEX AQUA Flash smartphone sports a 4.3-inch display with a WVGA touch and runs on a 1GHz dual core processor. Operating on Android 4.0 i.e. Ice Cream Sandwich, the phone comes with a memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The device also has a rear-facing 8MP camera and a front-facing 1.3MP camera.

An interesting feature is that it is equipped with three sensors- Gravity, Light and Proximity sensors which allows the user to adjust brightness of the screen, detects and turns off the screen during calls etc. This in-turn controls the outflow of infrared rays and also saves battery at the same time. EDGE, AGPS, WAP, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are some of the connectivity options available in the device.

The phone is powered with 2100 mAh battery which allows a long talktime of 3.5 hours and 72 hours of standby. The phone comes with pre-loaded applications such as Gmail, Nimbuzz, India Today, Saavan, Skype, Facebook, Google Maps and YouTube. Some of the other features include FM radio, music player, sound recorder, pushmail, video capture, calendar, notes, alarm, calculator etc. The phone supports two languages- English and Hindi. And costs Rs 9500.

-          INTEX AQUA Trendy runs on Android 2.3 OS and sports a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen. Powered with a 1GHz dual core processor it has a 3.2MP rear camera with a 1.3MP front camera supporting video calling.Other key features include dual-SIM capability, high resolution display and 1400 mAh powerful battery. The handset is equipped with three sensors - Gravity, Light and Proximity and supports auto call recorder. The device provides a seamless browsing experience and lets a user connect through Wi-Fi, GPRS, WAP and EDGE.The phone is bundled with Google Play store that stores an array of applications and features such as music player, video Player, FM Radio, sound recorder, gallery, Email, Gmail, Browser, Flipkart, Facebook, India Rail, Google Maps, Nimbuzz, Skype and YouTube.( Rs 4900)
