BSNL bundles 3G with affordable tablet options

Delhi, February 28 2012: The Indian-government-owned telecom provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has jumped into the affordable tablet PC space, having tied up with Noida ( near Delhi) -based Pantel to offer 3 models.   The cheapest model is priced only slightly higher than the  government sponsored Aakash tablet.
1. Penta  TPadIS701R, is a WiFi only device with Android 2.3 operating system, 1 GHz processor and 256 MB RAM. It comes with a 3000 mAh battery and 2 GB internal memory which can be expanded through a micro SD card. The tablet has an HDMI port and Its 7 inch resistive touch screen has 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.. The tablet also has a VGA front facing camera for video calling. Rs. 3,250
2. Penta TPad WS704c is a 7 inch tablet with capacitive touch screen with same specifications as Penta IS701R, but offers added 3G connectivity through a SIM slot, inbuilt A-GPS, an accelerometer, and Bluetooth. It has a 2 megapixel rear camera and 512 MB RAM. Rs. 10,999
3. Penta TPad WS802C has an 8 inch capacitive screen and a SIM slot for 3G/2G connectivity. It has a 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The internal memory is 4 GB. Rest of the features are same as those in the 704C. Rs. 13,500
BSNL bundles 5GB data usage plan for Rs. 750 on 3G while 7.5 GB data for Rs. 250 on GPRS/EDGE.
