Reliance offers India’s first Android CDMA handset

Reliance Communications has joined hands with Coolpad Overseas, a Joint-venture of Hong-Kong based China Wireless to roll out India’s fully loaded android Éclair CDMA phone, D530 in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The D530 offers a data speed of 3.1 Mbps and a 3.5 inch touch screen with 320×480 pixels single point touch screen, 2.0MP camera and support a maximum 1600×1200 pixels photos. It has a unique feature of wi-fi router for multiple users in a home environment. D530 also supports GPS navigation. The phone is priced at Rs 7999.
Sami Al-Lawati, Managing Director, Coolpad Communications said, “In the current scenario, we see Reliance CDMA as the key driver of mobile data business in India. Feature-rich CDMA handsets will play a crucial role in addressing this segment.”
