HCL unveils India's first Tablets with Localised content, one-touch customer service

HCL Infosystems has entered the tablet PC arena in India, with a trishul  or trio of offerings straddling popular size and price points. The ME range of HCL tablets are claimed to be the country's first with Localised Content and world's first Tablet with one touch button for customer service. They are powered by the Android OS and available in three variants - HCL ME AE7 for the economy users, HCL ME AM7 for the mainstream users and HCL ME AP10 for the high end users. The new range of HCL ME all feature HCL Touch enabling a 24X7 one touch service facility.

- The ME-AE7-A1 comes with an 800 MHz processor, 7 inch touch screen; 256 MB of DDR2 RAM; Micro SD Card for up to 8 GB; GPS; 802.11b/g wifi; bluetooth; 0.3 MP camera, weighs 400 gm and costs Rs 14990.
- The ME-AM7-A1 has the same processork, but a 7 inch capacitive touch screen; 512 MB RAM, MicroSD card up to 16 GB; a slightly more advanced GPS, 802.11 b/g wifi, bluetooth, 3G-WCDMA, 1.3 MB camera, full 1080 HD video support, and weighs 300 gm. It costs Rs 25,750.
- The top of the line ME-AP10A-A1 uses a 1 GHz processor, has a 10 inch capacitive touch display1GB of DDR2 RAM, GPS/compass, 802.11b/g/n wifi, bluetooth, 3g/HSPA, 1.3 MP camera, full 1080p HD and weighs 750 gm. It costs Rs 32990.
