Buffalo's back with a bang  -- and an Ingram Micro tie-up

Wired and Wireless Networking, Storage and Memory solutions leader, Buffalo has strengthened its India presence by partnering with Ingram Micro for nationwide distribution across 36 cities in India. The existing distribution arrangements with Kolkata based Supertron Electronics will continue, says Satoshi Inaba ,Buffalo’s Assistant General Manager APAC region.

“Buffalo’s range of consumer NAS, Storage and Wireless Networking solutions is highly regarded and represent a natural fit into our expanding portfolio of products and solutions targeted at the individual, home/small office and entry level enterprise customers,” adds Jaishankar Krishnan, Managing Director, Ingram Micro India Ltd.

In India, Buffalo presently offers Network Storage solutions, External/Portable Hard Drives, Wireless Networking solutions including Routers, Access points and Accessories and HD ready Digital Media Player solutions targeted at the individual consumers, small office/home office and entry level enterprise environments.

Buffalo’s product range competes with brands like Linksys and D-Link in the home/small office wireless networking area; and with Seagate, Western Digital and others in the portable and internal storage business.

In recent weeks the company has also launched an attractively priced ( Rs12,000) full High Definition “Link Theater” multimedia player which supports all popular video, audio and picture formats. Our dipstick survey shows that in some product categories like external portable USB DVD drives, Buffalo moves quickly off the shelves in India.
