BSNL INTRODUCED FASTEST BROADBAND IN INDIA

But you need to be very close to the exchanges to get these speeds.Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, the Indian government-owned telecom provider, has announced the availability of high speed broadband at the fastest speeds in India -- up to 24 Mbps. The service uses Very high speed Digital Subscriber Loop (VDSL) Technology and is offered at 16Mbps & 24 Mbps across the country.

The monthly charges of Rs.4999 for speeds up to 16 Mbps and Rs.9999 for speeds up to 24 Mbps.

But there’s a catch: you have to be very close to BSNL’s broadband exchange nodes to realise these zippy speeds: While 24 Mbps broadband will be available up to around 500 meter cable route distance from the exchange, 16 Mbps broadband is available  up to around 1 Km. from the exchange.
If you are so  situated , the contact number for the service is 1800-464-1600.

BSNL currently offers broadband service at speeds ranging from 256 kbps up to 8 Mbps in a variety of packages across India including all district headquarters, and Taluka( village), more than 4,500 cities covering more than 1,00,000 villages...making it the biggest provider in the country.
