Reports    VIA SATELLITE: Asia’s 4K pioneers have raced off with their wake separating them from the rest. While some are preparing for a full market onslaught, the other Asian countries will take a different strategy and start with premium 4K satellite subscriptions. Either way, from niche to mass market, we will soon see just how much of a revolution this resolution can cause
Move over 3-D because the next big thing is nearly here. Some might not want to accept this, but it is a fact: Ultra-HD will be a reality. How else would you explain the Tokyo 2020 program? The 2020 Olympics will highlight Japan making history as the first nation to launch commercial 4K broadcasting.
Sansui, a leading Japanese consumer electronics brand in India, launched its advanced Curve 4K Ultra HD LED TV at Rs. 1,99,990 . The new range which is part of Sansui’s robust plans of expanding its premium TVs product portfolio, was unveiled by Sansui’s partners and defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders team players Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan, and Shakib Al Hasan ( see photo).
Vu Televisions, the California-based luxury television company, introduces the viewers to the concept of intelligent luxury with the Vu 42" 4K UHD SMART LED TV at a compelling Rs 42,000. It comes with high definition magnified four times and intelligent features that make the visual experience truly future ready. Side by side, ultra HD gives you more than 8 million pixels, Full HD has an estimated 2 million pixels.
Videocon d2h, the first in India to have successfully previewed 4K Ultra HD DTH Service in July 2014, has now launched  a 24 hrs 4K Ultra HD multi genre channel.  It has 4 times better resolution than Full HD and is 27 times the normal Standard definition picture quality.
Leading Indian Direct-To-Home (DTH) operator Tata Sky   launched India’s first 4K set top box (STB) in India. New subscribers can book their Tata Sky 4K set top box at just Rs 6,400 while existing subscribers can get it for Rs. 5,900. The box is backward compatible and will also showcase Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) channels.
