July 31 2016:  Google India  remembers   famous  Indian writer  Munshi Premchand on his   136th birth anniversary today.
Premchand  who was born July 31 1880 and died  October 8 1936  was a doyen of his modern Hindustani literature and was regarded as the greatest writer in Hindi Literature.
Today he is best  recalled through the many films that are based on his novels  -- see a few of them above.
