India’s top tech PR agencies rated.

B2B marketer, Paul Writer has released the first report and reference on the technology public relations landscape in India. The “Red Book of Tech PR” was launched on December 3 at the Great Indian Marketing Summit in Bangalore.

The report finds that India’s best known PR firms with a technology focus are Text 100, 20:20 Media, Genesis Burson-Marsteller, The Practice and Perfect Relations. However it finds that 46% of PR clients are unlikely to recommend their agencies and that 40 % had a PR relationship of a year or less. About a third of the clients ( 309%) spend between Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 6,00,000 every year on their PR – but there are some 7% who spend Rs 3,60,000 a year. Reading between the lines of the 30 page report one gets the impression that the IT companies on their part are somewhat woolly about what they want from PR partners – and if they only look they will find one that suits them well.

The report has a useful reference section listing the top 11 agencies and giving a summary of their offerings, with client list and contacts.

The report was based on a survey of over 100 respondents. Some 826 respondents visited the survey but since all did not complete the mandatory sections, only 107 responses were used. The number of respondents for any question ranges between 55 and 83. PR agencies were selected for participation based on names proposed by users, as well as a confirmation by the agency that they were focused on the technology space.

The report can be freely downloaded from www.paulwriter.com  ( after a minimal registration).
