Sony compact Digital SLR Cameras NEX-3 & NEX-5

Sony has introduced the World’s Smallest and Lightest Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras – the NEX-5 and NEX-3. allowing users users to capture professional-quality DSLR photos with affordable equipment. . Features like Full HD movie, 7fps High Speed shooting, background defocus and 3D Sweep Panorama place advanced still and movie tools in the hands of lay users – possibly for the first time at these price points.

In the process Sony has changed the imaging game in two directions: One: it has wiped away the distinction between ultra compact digital cameras and professional multi-lens single lens reflex (SLR) cameras . Two: it has also made it unnecessary to carry separate still and video cameras. The magnesium-alloy bodied NEX-5 ( Rs 34,990) doubles as a full High Definition ( 1080i) 7 frames per second video camera; while the plastic bodied NEX-3 ( Rs 29,990) is good for 720p HD movie making. Both are autofocus; with a 14.2 megapixel image sensor and can capture 3D panorama photos. The basic lens (18-55mm f3.5- 5.6) can be interchanged with ultra wide angle and fish eye converters as well as the full range of A-mount lenses. The camera with battery and memory stick ( 4 GB free) is quite light by SLR standards: less than 300 grams.
