The ZenFone Max Pro is for the value-conscious

Paisa vasool! The phone is a canny combo of  cost-effective features|
May 1 2018: India has given to the world, a  catch phrase  for value-consciousness:  'Kitna deti hain'?  It  was made famous by mileage-sensitive Indians before procuring their first car or two wheeler. Smartphone buyers these days -- with such a plethora of choices before them --  seem to ask the same question. Asus  has taken  value-consciousness head-on with its latest offering -- the ZenFone Max Pro. While known for high-end, stylish and spec-heavy handsets, it addresses  the unique needs and expectations of  Indian consumers with the Max Pro, a device that  is robust and performance-rich, while remaining affordable.
The first  way to achieve this  lies in the device's 5000 mAh battery with fast charge: it takes  under 2 hours for a full charge. Second, the Max Pro provides a stock Android (Oreo) experience, minus the bells and whistles of its own ZenUI. This saves space and makes the user interface simple and easy to use. Third, the Max Pro takes sound seriously. We like listening to a lot of music on our phones and  this device features an NXP smart amplifier and a 5-magnet speaker that ensures distortion free, clear sound output.  If you wish to hear music at 2X the loudness, Asus has thrown in a complimentary Max Box, a cute piece of impressive acoustic engineering that requires you to dock your device into it, and it automatically acts as a surround speaker, without the need of power supply.
The most important specs these days are those of the camera and the Max Pro comes with a dual back camera -- a 13 MP primary camera  plus a 5 MP portrait camera and  a soft light LED flash. You can point-n-shoot 4K video. The 8 MP front camera also comes with soft light LED flash and a lot of selfie enhancement features.   The 5.99 inches device is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 636  and  offers a 18:9 aspect ratio.  There are few more enhancements  like  a three-slot SIM and memory card tray, face unlock and fingerprint sensor. Available in black and grey, the Max Pro is priced at Rs. 10,999 (3 GB + 32 GB) and Rs. 12,999 (4 GB + 64 GB)  and  available exclusively on Flipkart. The mix of specs and innovative features makes the Max Pro a cost -effective buy. If you do not want to spend on a flagship device, this one is a good choice.  VISHNU ANAND
