Rajan Verma to head NEC's  Public safety and Identity solutions biz in India

Network and IT solutions provider, NEC has announced the appointment of Rajan Verma as the head of its Public Safety and Identity solutions business in India. Rajan will be responsible for driving the growth of NEC’s identity solutions business in India with special focus on criminal, civil identification and banking segments. The company is engaging with central & state governments to drive E-gov projects in India, participating in infrastructure security projects and taking keen interest in national security initiatives.
Rajan brings with him an in-depth understanding of the IT security solutions industry and a strong senior-level management background acquired from some of the major IT & telecom companies in the industry.

In May 2010, NEC launched its first “NEC Biometrics Excellence Center” (N-BEC) in Bangalore, India, aimed at providing world class engineering competency to cater to the company’s global chain engaged in development, deployment and support of identity solutions for the international market. This center was commissioned to accelerate the expansion of NEC’s global multimodal identification solutions and integrated security solutions business, including its renowned automated fingerprint identification solutions and face recognition solutions.  July 29 2011
