Hitesh Oberoi, new Chairman of IAMAI

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has named its new chairman: Hitesh Oberoi, Co-founder and CEO of Info Edge India (in picture). Mr Oberoi who takes over from Shailesh Rao, Managing Director of Google India says: “The digital industry is at an inflection point and is growing steadily. IAMAI, which has been working persistently towards the growth of the medium, is also growing. We plan to engage more closely with the government to ensure that the online industry registers a balance growth in the years to come and the internet user base widens.”
Hemant Sachdev, Joint Managing Director, Microsoft Corporation is the new Vice-Chairman, who will take over from Ambareesh Murty, Country Manager, eBay India.
Dhruv Shringi, Founder and CEO of Yatra.com is the new Treasurer, talking from Nalin Shinghal, Director-Tourism, IRCTC.
The Internet & Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is a not-for-profit industry body registered under the Societies Act, 1896. Its mandate is to expand and enhance the online and mobile value added services sectors. It is dedicated to presenting a unified voice of the businesses it represents to the government, investors, consumers and other stakeholders.
