Kerala tech education veteran Anvar Sadath,  to receive global  edutech award

Thiruvananthapuram, August 2 2018: K. Anvar Sadath, Vice Chairman & Executive Director of Kerala Infrastructure & Technology For Education (KITE),  is to receive ‘The International Contributions Award’ constituted by The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) head quartered at Bloomington, US -- the first Indisn to be so honoured.
“This honour is in recognition of Mr Sadath's outstanding and continuous contributions to the field of educational communications and technology in the international setting. The committee is very much impressed with all his work and service to this field in the international setting especially in India”, said Dr Hsin-Te (Chuck) Yeh, Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and Award Co-ordinator of International Division of AEC.
AECT is the premier professional association for instructional design and educational technology. The organization works to provide international leadership by promoting scholarship and best practices in the creation, use and management of technologies for effective teaching and learning. AECT has 10 divisions and a Graduate Student Assembly and produces two print bimonthly journals.
Anvar Sadath heads the implementation of Hi-tech School project which converts 45000 class rooms of classes 8 to 12 in Kerala in to Hi-tech, empowers all teachers to handle the pedagogy based class room transactions by using the portal 'Samagra'. SchoolWiki that connects 15000 schools has been remodelled into holistic content collaboration mode. He has started his career with ER&DCI ( Now CDAC) in 1998 and since then worked as Director – Akshaya, Head of UNDP supported e-Krishi, Technical Director -IKM, Executive Director, IT@School project, CEO of Eram Scientific Solutions etc. He has been invited for paper presentations in several international forums and has travelled to all continents. He holds masters degree in Computer Applications & Business Administrations and has authored 8 books on the IT and technology genre and is the recipient of several awards such as the Science Literature Award 2005 and Dr. C.P. Menon Memorial Award in 2012.
The Award will be presented at the 2018 AECT International Convention  to be held  inKansas City, US on  October  26.
