Bangalore, March 10, 2013 HP Education Services and the International Institute of Information Technology-Bangalore (IIITB)  have joined to offer IT infrastructure certificate programs for undergraduate students across India. These programmes will  help students explore careers in the growing remote infrastructure management industry.

Remote infrastructure management technology includes management of workstations, communications and networking hardware and software, as well as applications.

While India’s share of the global remote infrastructure management industry will be 45 percent by the year 2020 ( a NASSCOM estimate)  India currently lacks the skilled manpower required to monitor and manage these infrastructures.

The HP - IIITB   partnership will launch the following certificate programs:

· Integrated Networks – Equips students with skills to create and maintain effective wired/wireless network architectures in SMB environments. Graduates will learn to plan, design, install, configure, optimize, and upgrade network solutions.

· Network Security – Students will learn to build secure cloud environments that protect organizations from modern network and cloud security threats. Skills taught include securing network devices, implementing firewall and perimeter security, as well as cryptography.

· Networking for Cloud – Teaches students to architect flexible networks as part of an SMB’s cloud and mobility infrastructure. This program covers virtualization, building a cloud network, cloud federation and software-defined networking.

Says Prof. S Sadagopan, Director IIIT-B: “The Indian remote infrastructure management industry currently employs more than 100,000 people and  and demand for resources can be expected  to more than triple by 2015. Through a combination of HP’s leading technology education services and IIITB’s mentorship, Indian undergraduates in the networking certificate programs can build their IT skill set, therefore ensuring a steady stream of skilled workers for the industry.”

IIITB will apply its experience and leadership in technical education services to design and administration of the program. HP Education Services will provide a blended model of classroom training to be conducted at the company’s  centres across India, as well as Virtual Instructor Led Training (vILT) sessions that enable IIITB faculty to mentor students through virtual sessions.Upon completion, students are awarded a joint IIITB and HP certificate that enables them to pursue a broader range of employment prospects in the Indian remote infrastructure management industry.
