Pine Labs harnesses the mobile edge  to create a combo of payment, loyalty and promotional solutions

Noida, December 27 2012: Leading Indian provider of Payment, Loyalty and Retail Automation systems,  Pine Labs, has  launched a slate of products and solutions   which untether the Point of Sale terminal, make it mobile and  and take it  right up to the customer.

In a rollout for Indian petroleum retailer Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Pine Labs has created  a smart card system where  loyal customers are instantly identified by a  an NFC ( near field communication)  tag fitted to  the vehicle’s rear window  and are  served according to their specific requirements. A mobile POS terminal is brought to the driver for  making the financial transaction obviating the need to  take the customer’s credit or debit card away from the car.

In another application that is the hall mark of PineLabs  canny  fusion of payment, loyalty and promotion technologies,   hand phone and portable computer maker Samsung in India , is able to work out a precise instalment payment plan for its flagship Galaxy Note device, within  3-4 seconds.

For the Tata-owned Croma chain of electronic retail outlets, Pine Labs has provided a solution that morphs  credit card and prepaid gift card  into a single seamless operation.

“Every transaction is an opportunity”, said Pine Labs’ CEO,  Lokvir Kapoor in a briefing for IndiaTechOnline , “The challenge is to reduce the cost of acquiring a customer, then retain his loyalty by  making the payment operation as painless as possible”.
