Hyderabad hosts theoretical computer science conferfence

Hyderabad December 15 2012: The 32nd International Conference on 'Foundations of Software Technology and Theoretical Computer Science (FSTTCS 2012) opened at the International Institute of Information Technology in  Hyderabad today.

The FSTTCS conference is a forum for presenting original results in foundational aspects of Computer Science and Software Technology.This year the conference is sponsored by Google and Information Technology and Communications Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Over 130 delegates representing various Universities and Industry from India and abroad are taking part in the conference. Apart from five invited talks, the delegates are presenting 43 research papers. Prof. Yuval Rabani of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem gave an invited talk related to learning probability distributions and how it can be used efficiently used in data mining and e-commerce. The session was chaired by Prof Jaikumar Radhakrishnan of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. The conference will  conclude on December 17.
