Come to Daddy! Domain name king, Go Daddy, doubles Indian customers in a year
Bangalore, August 10, 2012 – The world's number one provider of domain name registration and web hosting services – the Scottsdale, Arizona (US)-based Go Daddy-- has seen the number of its new Indian customers almost double in the last year to over 120,000. Visits to its India website, started when it established a marketing presence here seven months ago, has grown 54%, Rajiv Sodhi, Managing Director—India says.
Go Daddy India opened a customer care facility in Hyderabad, in June – and already, agents have taken more than 10,000 calls, mostly from entrepreneurs and business owners.
Adds Sodhi: "What we are doing is helping people leverage the Internet to grow their businesses ... providing simple products at competitive prices and supporting them with industry-best customer service based here in India. It's a pretty straight-forward formula and it works. In an economy, where everyone is looking for an edge. I think our timing has been exquisite and the results are playing out better than we expected”. To make its services more accessible in India, Go Daddy has introduced multiple payment options in Indian currency . It has realized – fast – that India is not a DIY or Do It Yourself market, but a DIFM or Do It For Me market, and has tweaked its offerings in India accordingly. It has also launched a national advertisement campaign on TV this week.
