Bangalore embedded player iWave, unveils  industry-first  SOM solution for Freescale's quad multimedia chip

Nuremberg (Germany) February 28 2012: Bangalore-headquartered global embedded solutions provider iWave Systems Technologies, has unveiled the industry’s first ready-to-use quad-core System-on-module for Freescale’s new multimedia i.MX6x family which has versions from single core to quad. 

The Indian solutions provider has launched the SOM at the Embedded World 2012 expo and conference which opened in Nuremberg, Germany this week. Besides multi format 1080p HD decode & encode, this module supports four simultaneous displays. It is targeted to applications such as Advanced Human Machine Interface, Automotive In-Vehicle Instrumentation, Video & Navigation, digital signage & Single Board System on Chip Computing. It is tailored for Freescale’s i.MX6x multimedia ARM Cortex A9 1 GHz Dual/Quad core processor, compatible to Q7 R1.20 standard.
Another recent SOM solution, offers enhanced video graphics experience through ARM’s AM389x Q7 Module. Based on Texas Instruments'  Sitara AM389x ARM Cortex A8 CPU running up to 1.5 GHz, offers rich user interfaces through SGX530 3D Graphics Engine. Its high performance peripheral integration paves a way for its applications in Industrial Automation, Interactive POS, Single Board Computing, Network & Communication Processing &Video Surveillance Systems. http://www.iwavesystems.com/
