Tech Notes: The Telit GL868-DUAL is a dual band 900/1800 GSM/GPRS device in LCC castellation packaging with extremely low power consumption, extended temperature range and compact profile. The solutions designed by Telit and Calixto will provide customers with “Ready to Manufacture” references for many remote monitoring and control applications using a GPRS module.
M2M stands for machine-to-machine, encompasses all hardware, software, and processes that enable machine management related communication between different machines and between machines and people. This is accomplished through the use of telemetry, which is the language machines use when communicating with each other. Such communication was originally accomplished by having a remote network of machines relay information back to a central hub for analysis, which would then be rerouted into a system like a personal computer.
