WINDOWS XP: Reprieved again

Bowing to popular demand, Microsoft has yet again extended the life of its operating system Windows XP. Now, dealers and resellers can continue to book XP till May 30, 2009 -- a four month extension over the previous deadline. Persuading users to upgrade from XP to Vista has proved a difficult task – especially in the corporate sector which matters more. XP still continues to outnumber Vista installations worldwide by something like 3:1. In fact, many users might be playing a waiting game, hoping to hang on to XP and waiting to upgrade, till the next announced iteration, Windows 7, becomes available towards end 2009. And going by the successive shifts in the date set for XP’s death, they just might have their way!
