Top Gun in two towns...TCS

IT services, consulting and business solutions leader, Tata Consultancy Services has been was adjudged the “Outsourcing company of the year 2011” award at the Data News Awards for Excellence ceremony held last week in Brussels.
The Data News Awards are the leading award series for the Information technology (IT) and Telecom Industry in Belgium and recognizes exceptional performances by companies and individuals across 12 categories.

“TCS emerged as the clear winner, ahead of 25 other companies, a point that underscores its growing reputation in Belgium and indeed across Europe. It is also notably the first India headquartered company to ever win this award. ” said Luc Blyaert, Editor-in-Chief of Datanews.

TCS has been operating in the Belgian market since 1992, as part of its larger Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) business unit. The Belgian operations comprises over 1100 consultants providing services to leading firms in the country including several BEL20 companies in the telecom, retail, manufacturing and financial services sectors.

Earlier last week, TCS was certified as one of Britain’s Top Employers for 2011, by The CRF Institute. The certification, based on independent research done by the CRF Institute and audited by Grant Thornton, demonstrated that TCS performed exceptionally well across all 11 key areas of HR practice. In particular, the survey recognized that the company has outstanding policies, a “make it happen” culture, is dedicated to the long term development of its staff in the UK and offers excellent working conditions. This performance culminated with TCS being ranked as one of the five highest ranked large organisations in the country along with Thomson Reuters, G4S plc., Centrica Plc. and MacDonald’s UK. Previously certified as a UK ‘Investors in people’, TCS contributes towards the future of the UK workforce through partnerships with leading UK academic institutions including London Business School, Said Business School and King’s College amongst others. TCS’ UK workforce has grown by over 120% over five years since 2006 and the company currently employs over 2500 locally hired staff, including its UK subsidiary - Diligenta.
