Intel's "Insider" technology for secure digital content transport has been harnessed by leading India-based entertainment provider, Hungama to drive the first full high definition movie download service in this country. A growing library of Bollywood and Hollywood films will be shortly available for direct streaming to PCs -- and even as pre downloads that can be viewed simultaneous with the national theatrical release. That will give movie-crazy Indians the 'first day, first show' experience in the comfort of their homes.

The Insider technology which is available with all PCs fuelled by Intel's second generation "Core" processors, goes hand in hand with the latest iteration of Intel's "Wireless Display" -- WiDi -- hardware solution which enables full HD content to be transferred wirelessly from desktop or laptop PC to a TV screen, explained R Sivakumar, Intel's Managing Director for Sales and Marketing (South Asia), at the launch event of the Hungama partnership, held on the sidelines of the FICCI Frames media and entertainment show in Mumbai this week.

Hungama CEO Neeraj Roy explained that within 6 months, the HD download service would reach some 50 million potential users worldwide.

The film going public is ready and willing to pay for premium quality, legitimate Indian films -- and now they can access their entertainment, securely in their homes, added veteran film maker Yash Chopra.
