Gigabyte unleashes  the 'Dragon'

February 21, '09; BANGALORE: Graphics card specialist Gigabyte has unleashed the power of AMD's recently announced Dragon desktop platform for enhanced gaming experience. The company is offering its GA-MA790FXT-UDSP mother board fuelled by AMD's AM3 Phenom II processor with reachable memory speeds of 1.666 GHz.

AMD's Dragon was touted as the "PC platform with the power to play it all" – and the Gigabyte realisation promises to do just that.

Gigabyte-specific features includes its Ultra Durable3 design features which lowers system temperatures – a key factor for hard core gamers who like to over-clock their systems and need to cool them by all manner of tricks from chilled water to icy blasts of air – to dousing the hardware in liquid oxygen.

Gigabyte cards are distributed in India by Avnet, Ingram-Micro, Redington and Neoteric Infomatique. The new Dragon mother boards is priced at Rs 14,990.

TRAINING AT JETKING

In recent months, the Taiwan-based Gigabyte has also partnered with leading trainer Jetking, to help students acquire proficiency in motherboard technologies. Jetking has been a pioneer in fostering the do-it-yourself spirit in young Indians. Gigabyte plans on taking its tutorial modules at Jetking beyond the main metros to other cities in 2009.
