India takes  Make in India Message to Sweden

October 13 20127: A 2-day Make in India event was held in Stockholm, Sweden  concludes  today
The aim was to  explore synergies and avenues of partnership between Indian and Swedish manufacturing industries.  The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu,  Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Karnataka  Minister of Large and Medium Industries, RV Deshpande were  at the  inaugural session. The Indian Ambassador to Sweden, Monika Kapil Mohta was also present.
Mr Prabhu said: “I am excited that almost all top Swedish companies are present in India. Sweden is an old and trusted friend who came to invest in India when it was a tough time to do business, now it is the time of business oriented structural reforms and time is ripe for these partnerships.”
Mr Deshpande thanked  Swedish companies like Volvo, Scania, IKEA, ABB, SKF, SAAB, Autoliv, Astra Zeneca, Weg and others who have invested in Karnataka and have made Karnataka  their home. Likewise Karnataka based companies such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, ITC Infotech have made Sweden their home by investing and creating large employment. He invited Swedish companies for more investments in Karnataka and assured them fullest co-operation of Government of Karnataka. 
Mr Fadnavis said: “Maharashtra hosts more than 80 Swedish companies which have added great value to the economy. There are huge business opportunities in Maharashtra in Smart Cities. We look forward to collaborate with technology providers into solid and liquid waste management”.
