STROMASYS, is a name derived from the Greek word 'Stroma', indicating a layer between objects. With their virtual legacy systems, the company's mission is to preserve clients's software investments across hardware generations by extending the life cycle of mission critical IT applications.Legacy users of PDP, VAX and Alpha systems are helped to continue to run their applications on newer systems.

The move is likely to be of interest to many Indian enterprises particularly in the government and public sector who are still using older hardware and need to port their applications to more contemporary platforms, with least pain.
