Bangalore August 10, 2016: The Online legal documentation platform, LegalDesk.com, has launched  an electronic signing feature. eSignDesk,  to make signing documents possible even in the physical absence of the parties .  The product was launched  here recently by Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Former Chairman of Universal Identification Authority of India  (UIDAI) .
All citizens who possess a registered mobile number associated with the Aadhaar card can make use of this facility. The eSign service conforms to the Information Technology Act, 2000 and hence, such electronically signed documents shall be considered legally valid throughout the country.
Said Nandan Nilekani: “Digital signatures for everybody is an excellent initiative. This can make the entire documentation process paperless. It is great to see start-ups like LegalDesk.com adopting Aadhaar innovatively using eSign and the India Stack.”
Added Krupesh Bhat,  founder of LegalDesk.com: “As a startup, we are very passionate about building things that solve real problems. We made it possible to get legal work done online at LegalDesk.com, but what we couldn’t do, was to replace the the need for wet sign. Now with the advent of Aadhaar based eSignature, I am glad to say that today it is possible.”
To use the eSign service, the document to be digitally signed must first be uploaded to the website. The next step involves entering the Aadhaar no. of the parties. A one time password (OTP) will then be sent to the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar card. On submission of the correct OTP, a digital signature will be generated by UIDAI and placed on the document. Once everyone has placed their digital signatures using the same process, the document can then be downloaded for safekeeping.
The service will be made available through the website www.eSignDesk.com, which facilitates the eSign process using UIDAI eSign and eKYC services. As a promotional offer, eSignDesk.com is giving its first thousand customers the opportunity to digitally sign one document  free of cost. Subsequently it will cost Rs 25 per e-signature.
