Freescale  launches design contest for its Kinetis L series microcontroller

Bangalore, January 21, 2014: Embedded semiconductor leader Freescale has challenged the electronics design engineering community in India to unleash their innovation and creativity while working with Freescale Kinetis L series: the world's smallest ARM Powered(R) MCU.
The Freescale Kinetis L Series MCUs Design Challenge is open to all persons 18 years or older as of January 1st, 2014 who is an Indian resident, who can speak, read and understand English. Professional electronics design engineers, hobbyists & budding engineers are encouraged to participate, design and build innovative embedded systems using Freescale Kinetis L Series MCUs.
These MCUs combines the exceptional energy efficiency and ease of use of the ARM CortexTM-M0+ processor with the performance, peripheral sets, enablement and scalability of the Kinetis 32-bit MCU portfolio
Participants need to register for this challenge at Freescale Kinetis L Series MCUs Design Challenge and obtain a Registration ID – Login/Password and submit an abstract. The last date for the submission of the abstract is April 10, 2014 and the challenge closes on July 20, 2014. The entries will be judged by a team of Freescale experts on parameters like creativity, design efficiency, number of Freescale products incorporated in the design, technical complexity, usefulness of application, overall application rating and environmental benefit potential for end use product.

The top three winners will get a cash reward - first prize of Rs 100,000, second prize of Rs 75,000 and third prize of Rs 50,000. The top 50 abstracts will be shortlisted to receive one complimentary hardware development tool and one version of CodeWarrior for Microcontrollers Development Suite, Special Edition Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software.
