The youth-focussed Virgin Mobile has been honoured as ‘Most Innovative Mobile Services’ for the year 2009 at last week’s Infocom National Telecom awards in New Delhi. The awards declared jointly by INFOCOM, a BusinessWorld initiative and the Communications and Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI) are given annually to recognize Indian telecom players for their contribution in building a robust National Telecom Network
Through its Hatke brand DNA, Virgin Mobile has established a brand connect with the youth of the country. Since its March 2008 launch in India, Virgin Mobile has aggressively targeted a young audience.
In recent days, it has teamed with multi community mobile social messenger, Nimbuzz to offer a multibrand WAP chat application under the brand name of Vchatter, allowing users to access multiple instant messengers from a single login.
Sify Technologies a leader in enterprise data telecom services and consumer Internet with global delivery capabilities, won the award for the 'Best Telecom Data Center' at the INFOCOM CMAI National Telecom Awards . Sify launched India's first Level 3 data center at Vashi, Mumbai, in September 2000. Over the last 8 years, Sify has invested in centers in Chennai and Bangalore with increasing levels of sophistication and capability. In August 2008, Sify launched its fourth state-of-the-art data center at Airoli near Mumbai.
