New Delhi, October 30, 2013 — ASUS has launched  an ultraportable quad core  convertible notebook and a   7-inch Android   phone-tablet to India.

Transformer Book T100, a 10.1-inch ultraportable laptop with an Intel Atom Z3740 ‘Bay Trail’ quad-core processor and a detachable HD display that can be used as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet. Transformer Book T100 is one of the lightest laptops currently available at just 1.07kg, but also one of the lightest 10-inch tablets around, at 550g.

With 11 hours on battery power, the T100 features a  lightweight keyboard dock plus a multi-touch touchpad with full Windows 8.1 gesture support.Just 10.5mm thin in tablet mode, Transformer Book T100 has a crisp 1366 x 768 resolution and features IPS technology for wide 178-degree viewing angles with excellent daylight visibility. It also features ASUS Instant On technology for the kind of instant response that people have come to expect from tablets. It wakes from standby in an instant and lasts for up to 14 days in standby mode. 

Transformer Book T100 also features USB 3.0, 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It is also bundled with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 with full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The ASUS Transformer Book T100 will be available in India at an MRP of Rs.34,099.

ASUS FONEPAD 7, an updated version of the popular Fonepad comes as a 7-inch Android device with full voice telephony for people who want smartphone features with a tablet-size screen. Fonepad 7 features a new non-slip finish and faster HSPA+ 3G with up to 42Mbit/s download speeds. It is powered by an Intel  Atom  Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology for seamless multi-tasking performance with Android 4.2. The 7-inch display has a crisp 1280 x 800 resolution with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology for wide viewing angles and excellent daylight visibility, while dual-front speakers with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology ensure high-quality sound.

Just 10.5mm thick and with a low 340g weight, ASUS Fonepad 7 is highly portable, features a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, plus a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with a 100 continuous-shot ‘burst’ mode and 1080p Full HD video recording.
