The famous scene in Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali where the two children, Apu and Durga, run through a field, towards a train puffing in the distance has been turned into a Google doodle today -- May 2 and Ray's 92nd birth anniversary. Says Sandeep Menon, director-marketing, Google India ( quoted in Hindustan Times): "We are constantly inspired by great stories and people. Our humble tribute captures a scene from Ray's first film. Visitors to Google India homepage will be greeted with information on Ray's life and movies."
