HP launches  green laser printers

November 28, 2011: Hewlett-Packard has launched in India, what it characterises as the world’s most energy efficient laser printer : the HP LaserJet Pro P1108, a single function monochrome LaserJet that provides SMBs with fast, reliable, professional printing. The printer is available for Rs. 6,599 and a variant of the model, HP LaserJet Pro P1106 is available for Rs. 5,999.
Salient features of HP LaserJet Pro P1108 include:Up to 3 times less Energy usage, as HP Auto on/ auto off technology senses all printing activity, turning the device on when users need it and off when they don't. HP Smart Install with a built-in printer driver, there is no need for a CD to install the printer drivers on any Windows PC. It takes less than 2 minutes to start printing from the moment the printer is plugged into the USB port of a PC. HP Smart Web Printing dramatically cuts down on paper wastage by automatically scaling the web page output to fit the width of paper. Higher print speed of 18ppm (pages per minute) and first page  out in as fast as 8.5 seconds deliver higher productivity.
Colour laser.

HP has also launched an energy efficient colour laser printer – the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025, ( Rs 14,999) amongst the first set of printers to get the much coveted Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) label in India. Like the 1108, the CP1025 features Auto-Off technology that automatically senses when there is no print activity and accordingly adjusts the power settings.
The Printer enables the user to achieve greater results through pre - configured shortcuts and easy spot colours which a user can apply throughout a document with basic colour match settings. This printer seems targeted at business users with small and medium size offices, who look for a cost- affordable, energy efficient device to meet their day-to- day colour printing requirements .
