Samsung brings its new  Galaxy tablets to India, with localized apps

Samsung Electronics has launched the   10.1 inch screen GALAXY Tab 750 and  the 8.9 inch GALAXY Tab 730, the world’s thinnest mobile tablets,  just 8.6 mm thick , in the Indian market. They feature Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface implemented on the Android3.1 (Honeycomb) platform, offering faster, more intuitive navigation to and from home screens and broader support of USB accessories.

“We have created a new class of products that will lead the tablet market in India as in the world”, said  J.S. Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia at the Delhi launch on Aug 10.

“India presents some of the best growth opportunities for smartphones and tablets, which is why it is one of the first few markets where we are launching these new, revolutionary tablets,” added Y.H. Lee, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

The GALAXY Tab 750 and 730 are the thinnest mobile tablets available weighing 565 grams and 465 grams respectively. They support 3G HSPA+ network speeds of up to 21Mbps as well as Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n . They are powered by a 1GHz dual core application processor  with an NVIDIA Tegra graphics chip, for a powerful multimedia and web browsing experience. Both the Galaxy tabs come with a 7000 mAh battery providing up to 9 hours of continuous video play on a single charge and a 16GB internal memory.

The GALAXY Tab 750 and 730 are pre-loaded with Readers Hub giving consumers instant access to more than 2.2 million books, 2,000 newspaper (49 languages) and 2,300 magazines (22 languages). It also comes pre-loaded with My Reader that gives Indian consumers access to 17 Indian newspapers, 17 Indian Magazines and 30,000 Indian language books. Furthermore, the Mobile TV application on the Samsung tablets gives consumers access to 55 Indian television channels. The devices are also designed with Samsung’s Social Hub, which aggregates email, instant messaging, contacts, calendar and social network connections into a single interface.

The GALAXY Tab 750 and 730 feature a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, providing smooth transition and seamless 1080p HD video and flash playback for a rich entertainment experience.

The device offers extensive Web browsing access through Adobe Flash Player compatibility and includes Polaris Office, a Mobile Office Solution which allows users to easily create, read and edit various PC document formats on their device.

While the GALAXY 750 is priced at Rs 36,200, the GALAXY 730 will be priced at Rs. 33,990.
