The Indian developers of China-headquartered global wireless products leader Huawei, have crafted a world-first 3G feature phone  -- the U5510 -- that doubles as a wireless hotspot for up to five other devices. Another first for the company’s Bangalore R&D centre is the just-launched Message+ service -- an instant messaging service just for Huawei smartphone owners. The Rs 4799 phone boasts a number of high-end features – full 3G HSDPA connectivity at 7.2 MBPS download speeds; dual SIM, dual 3.2 MP cameras, large 6.1 cm TFT display and the ability to convert its connectivity into a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 users.
With brand associate and well known author Chetan Bhagat supporting, Huawei’s Marketing Director Anand Narang and Sales Director P. Sanjeev, also unveiled MediaPad is the world’s first 7-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet and the cloudphones – Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3 -- both powered by the latest Android 2.3 v Gingerbread. The cloud phones leverage Huawei’s Cloud+ service another world-first in which phone owners can avail of 16GB of Cloud disk for storage of their photos, videos, music and data.
