Bangalore, June 23, 2011: HP today announced hardware and networking solutions targetting at the Indian SMB market - along with an entrepreneurial program to encourage technology adoption among small and mid sized businesses in the country.

HP launched the ProLiant ML 110 G7 server, which instals itself in less than an hour and supports basic office applications like messaging, databases and small vertical-specific applications. The ProLiant DL 120 G7 was also launched, aimed at increasing productivity for infrastucture applications and shared web apps. The entery-level rack server claims to be ideal for rapid scale-up and scale-down businesses.

HP also launched two switches -- The V1810-48 and the V1410. The former is vendor-neutral and supports 48-ports, while the latter is ethernet compliant and designed specifically for small businesses.

Additionally, HP also announced an investment of $4 million in its global program, HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (LIFE), which empowers SMBs to create new revenue streams. In Asia Pacific, there are 63 training centers in ten countries, including Australia, China, India, Korea and Southeast Asia.  India has 28 training centers.

Speaking exclusively to IndiaTechOnline, Rajesh Dhar, Director, Industry Standard Servers said, "With these newly launched solutions, we are encouraging SMBs to adopt the cloud -- internal clouds that manage the basic infrastructure of the business and possibly migrate to the external cloud where apps can be made available on-demand depending on the business forecasts of the company."
