Akshar Speech Technologies an Indian language computing initiative flowing out of work incubated at the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H), has We announced the release of the beta edition of aSpeak, a text-to-speech engine in Indian Languages. The aSpeak synthesizer platform currently supports text to speech synthesis for Indian Accented English, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.The software which is less than 3.5 MB in size can be used with screen readers such as NVD

Screen to speech Earlier Akshar has also released aReader, a screen reader software for the Windows operating system. It identifies and interprets text on the screen into speech. aReader also enables the visually challenged or people with reading disabilities, to access a PC.
